These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of LifeCharted (the “Service”), operated by Tribus Labs, LLC (“Tribus Labs”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Accounts and authentication
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any authentication methods you use (including OAuth sign-in). You agree to provide accurate information and to promptly update it if it changes.
3. Subscriptions and payments
LifeCharted is offered as a subscription service. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancellation: You can cancel at any time in your account settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Taxes and fees: Taxes may apply depending on your location and applicable law.
- Refunds: Unless required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- Price changes: If we change pricing, we will provide advance notice before changes take effect for your next renewal.
4. Your content
A) Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service, including events, notes, relationships, and uploaded media (“User Content”).
B) License to operate the Service
You grant Tribus Labs a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your User Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service and to generate AI outputs you request.
C) Content about other people
LifeCharted may allow you to store information about other individuals (including living people and minors). You represent and warrant that you have the right to provide that information and that your use does not violate any privacy, publicity, or other rights or applicable laws.
If we receive a credible complaint or legal request regarding content about a third party, we may remove or restrict access to that content.
5. Sharing and privacy
Your content is private by default. Sharing occurs only when you explicitly enable it (for example, by inviting collaborators or creating shared views/links, if available). You are responsible for the sharing choices you make.
6. AI features
The Service includes optional AI-assisted features, including quick-add event drafting, story generation, and CV/resume import. These features use the Claude API (Anthropic).
- AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing and editing before saving or sharing.
- You should not rely on AI outputs for medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decisions.
- You agree not to use AI features to generate unlawful content, harassment, or doxxing.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Accessing or attempting to access another user's data without authorization.
- Uploading malware or attempting to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service.
- Using the Service for harassment, stalking, doxxing, or other harmful behavior.
- Violating intellectual property rights (e.g., uploading copyrighted material you don't have rights to use).
- Reverse engineering or scraping the Service except where permitted by law.
8. Beta / pre-release disclaimer
The Service is currently labeled beta and is provided “AS IS”. It may contain bugs. Features may change, and you may experience interruptions or data loss. We recommend exporting your data periodically.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service and other users. You can export or delete your data using the in-app tools, subject to reasonable operational constraints.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is not a medical, legal, financial, or archival record system. We provide the Service on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tribus Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tribus Labs from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
13. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles. Exclusive venue for disputes shall be determined by applicable law.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date and, if changes are material, provide notice in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
