How do On This Day and Weekly Reflect work?

Automated notifications that surface past events and prompt weekly reflection.

On This Day

When you have events from the same calendar month in previous years, LifeCharted sends you a notification surfacing them — for example, "You started your job at IBM 12 years ago this month" or "You moved to Nashville 5 years ago."

The more events you have logged with specific month and year dates, the more On This Day has to surface. If no matching events exist for the current month, you will not receive a notification that month.

Weekly Reflect

Each week, a prompt invites you to reflect on the week gone by. It is a lightweight nudge to capture anything worth logging before memory fades.

How notifications are delivered

Both are delivered by email. LifeCharted does not send browser or mobile push notifications.

Open your profile page and use the "On This Day email notifications" checkbox to turn product emails on or off, then save. Every product email also carries an unsubscribe link.

Transactional email — account security, billing receipts, share invitations — is separate and is not affected by this setting.

Rules of Thumb

  • Add month-level dates to past events — On This Day only fires when it finds a matching month.
  • Check that the email address on your account is one you actually read.

Common Mistakes

  • Expecting On This Day notifications when most events only have a year and no month.
  • Looking for a browser push setting — delivery is email only.
